Jaguar Industries' Flat Cable line offers three distinct configurations to meet diverse application requirements. The JFC Series features monolithic extrusion construction where conductors are extruded parallel to each other using gray PVC insulation, with a leading edge stripe for polarity indication. The JFCR Series is manufactured by thermally bonding individual color coded conductors in a parallel plane or onto a PVC substrate, utilizing the 10 standard RETMA (EIA) colors repeated in sequence as needed for easy circuit identification. The JFCS Series provides flat gray cable with an overall aluminum/mylar shield and jacket for superior EMI/RFI protection in noise-sensitive environments. All three series feature #28 AWG 7/36 stranded tinned copper conductors with PVC insulation, UL VW1 rating, 105°C temperature rating, and 300 volts R.M.S. voltage rating. The cables are designed with .050 inch centers optimized for insulation displacement connector (IDC) termination, enabling fast, reliable connections without wire stripping. Available in conductor counts from 9 to 64 conductors, with widths ranging from .450 inches (11.43mm) to 3.30 inches (83.82mm) depending on series and conductor count. The shielded JFCS Series provides slightly wider dimensions to accommodate the aluminum/mylar shield construction. These flat cables are ideal for ribbon cable applications, computer systems, data communications, internal equipment wiring, control panels, instrumentation, automated test equipment, and any application requiring organized, space-efficient multiconductor interconnections. The flat profile enables routing through tight spaces and behind panels. Custom configurations including pairs and military specification items are available. Perfect for applications requiring flexible, durable, and easily terminated multiconductor cables with excellent electrical properties and mechanical stability.
