Jaguar Industries' J-130 heat shrink tubing is an electrical grade polyester product manufactured through precision spiral winding and resin bonding processes, meeting demanding MIL-I-23053/7 Class 2 specifications for military and high-reliability applications. Constructed from polyethylene terephthalate (MYLAR®), this tubing features an extremely thin, fully transparent wall that makes it ideal for applications requiring visual inspection of underlying components. Rated for continuous operation from -55°C to 130°C with the capability to withstand elevated temperatures of 150°C for short periods, making it suitable for high-temperature electronics and aerospace applications. The unique shrinking characteristics begin with partial shrinkage at 80°C and progress to complete shrinkage at 150°C, providing controlled installation over sensitive components. With a 1.3:1 shrink ratio, the J-130 offers excellent dimensional stability while maintaining superior clarity. Available in nineteen sizes ranging from 1/64 inch to 2 inches, covering applications from delicate wire splices to larger cable assemblies and component protection. The ultra-thin wall construction (ranging from .003 inches to .006 inches nominal recovered wall thickness) ensures minimal space requirements while providing robust insulation and mechanical protection. Standard clear color allows for easy identification of part numbers, color codes, and visual verification of proper installation, with custom colors available for special applications requiring minimum quantities. Exceptional physical properties include 20,000 PSI tensile strength, 50% ultimate elongation, and outstanding dimensional stability with only -3 to -5% longitudinal change. Superior thermal performance demonstrated through heat aging tests showing 40% elongation retention after 336 hours at 150°C, and heat shock resistance with no cracking, flowing, or dripping after 4 hours at 180°C. Low temperature flexibility verified with no cracking after 4 hours at -60°C. Self-extinguishing flammability rating ensures fire safety in critical applications. Excellent electrical insulation properties with 2500 V/mil dielectric strength and 10¹⁵ ohm-cm volume resistivity make J-130 ideal for high-voltage applications. Chemical resistance includes non-corrosive performance, minimal water absorption of only 0.6%, and non-nutrient properties for fungus resistance. Perfect for covering resistors, capacitors, coils, diodes, small transformers, wire splices, cable terminations, PCB components, instrumentation assemblies, aerospace electronics, medical devices, telecommunications equipment, and any application requiring transparent, high-temperature heat shrink tubing with MIL-SPEC performance and excellent clarity for inspection purposes. Available in standard 3-foot or 4-foot lengths with custom cut pieces available upon request.
