DESCRIPTION: JAGUAR J-300 TUBING IS AN ELECTRICAL GRADE SEMI-RIGID, CO-EXTRUDED TUBING THAT PROVIDES A MELTABLE INNER WALL. IT IS RATED FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION AT -55°C TO 110°C AND CAN STAND ELEVATED TEMPERATURES FOR BRIEF PERIODS. WHEN HEATED ABOVE 135°C, THE INNER MELTABLE WALL SOFTENS AND IS FORCED INTO CONTACT WITH THE COVERED PRODUCT AS THE OUTER TUBE SHRINKS. WHEN THE J-300 TUBING COOLS, IT PROVIDES A TOUGH COATING THAT IS VERY RESISTANT TO CHEMICALS AND MOISTURE. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ASSEMBLIES, BREAKOUTS AND END SEALING OF CABLES AND RIGID TUBINGS.

Jaguar Industries' J-300 heat shrink tubing is an electrical grade semi-rigid, co-extruded product with a unique meltable inner wall, engineered to meet demanding MIL-I-23053/4 Class 1 and AMS-3634 specifications for military, aerospace, and high-reliability applications requiring superior environmental sealing and chemical resistance. Rated for continuous operation from -55°C to 110°C with capability to withstand elevated temperatures for brief periods, this innovative dual-layer construction provides exceptional performance for critical sealing applications. The revolutionary co-extruded design features a meltable inner wall that softens when heated above 135°C and is forced into contact with the covered product as the outer semi-rigid tube shrinks, creating a tough protective coating that is very resistant to chemicals and moisture upon cooling. This unique construction makes J-300 ideal for electrical and mechanical assemblies, cable breakouts, and end sealing of cables and rigid tubings where environmental protection is paramount. The adhesive-lined polyolefin material with 2.5:1 shrink ratio ensures excellent coverage and superior sealing performance compared to standard heat shrink tubing. Available in eight sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 1 inch, covering applications from small wire assemblies to larger cable protection requirements. Standard black color available across all sizes, with specific color-coded options for size identification: 1/8" brown, 3/16" gray, 1/4" white, 3/10" blue, 3/8" red, 1/2" blue, 3/4" yellow, with other colors available on special order subject to minimum quantities. Packaged in convenient 4-foot lengths for easy handling and installation, with custom cut pieces available for specific applications. The dual-wall construction provides both total recovered wall thickness ranging from .038 inches to .075 inches and a meltable inner layer ranging from .020 inches to .065 inches, ensuring robust insulation, mechanical protection, and superior environmental sealing. Outstanding physical properties include 2200 PSI tensile strength, 400% ultimate elongation providing good flexibility in the semi-rigid structure, +1 -10% longitudinal change, and exceptional 27,000 PSI secant modulus indicating very high rigidity and structural support capability for demanding applications. Specific gravity of 1.0 for the outer wall only. Superior thermal performance demonstrated through heat aging showing 175% elongation retention after 168 hours at 175°C, heat shock resistance with no dripping, flowing or cracking after 4 hours at 250°C, and low temperature flexibility verified with no cracking after 4 hours at -55°C. Excellent electrical insulation properties with 900 V/mil dielectric strength and 10¹⁵ ohm-cm volume resistivity make J-300 ideal for high-voltage applications requiring environmental sealing. Exceptional chemical resistance includes non-corrosive performance, non-nutrient properties for fungus resistance, minimal water absorption of only 0.1%, superior fluid resistance to JR4 Skydrol 600 for aerospace applications, solution gasoline resistance greater than 1500 PSI, and hydraulic fluid resistance of 600 V/mil, making this tubing ideal for harsh chemical and fluid environments.
