Jaguar Industries' J-321 heat shrink tubing is an electrical grade flexible polyolefin product with a thin layer of thermoplastic adhesive, engineered to meet demanding MIL-I-23053/4 Class 3 specifications for military, aerospace, marine, and high-reliability applications requiring superior environmental sealing and waterproofing. Rated for continuous operation from -55°C to 110°C, this innovative adhesive-lined construction provides exceptional performance for critical sealing applications in harsh environments. When heated above 121°C, the thermoplastic adhesive melts and is forced into contact with the covered product as the outer flexible tube shrinks, creating a flexible waterproof barrier upon cooling as the adhesive solidifies. This unique construction makes J-321 ideal for covering marine and wire splices and protection of components where environmental protection, moisture resistance, and flexibility are essential. The adhesive-lined flexible polyolefin material with 3:1 shrink ratio ensures excellent coverage and superior sealing performance with greater size reduction capability compared to standard 2:1 shrink tubing. Available in seven sizes ranging from 3/16 inch to 1-1/2 inches, covering applications from small wire splices to larger cable protection requirements. Flame-retardant black available in all sizes (3/16" to 1-1/2"), flame-retardant red available in select sizes (1/2", 3/4", 1"), and non-flame retardant clear available in all sizes (3/16" to 1-1/2") for applications requiring visual inspection. Packaged in convenient 4-foot lengths for easy handling and installation, with custom cut pieces available for specific applications. The dual-wall construction provides both total recovered wall thickness ranging from .040 inches to .100 inches and a meltable adhesive layer ranging from .020 inches to .040 inches, ensuring robust insulation, mechanical protection, and superior waterproof environmental sealing. Outstanding physical properties include 2100 PSI tensile strength, exceptional 450% ultimate elongation providing superior flexibility for conforming to irregular surfaces, +1 -15% longitudinal change, and 17,000 PSI secant modulus providing good structural support while maintaining flexibility. Specific gravity of 1.3. Superior thermal performance demonstrated through heat aging showing 175% elongation retention after 168 hours at 175°C (outer wall only), heat shock resistance with no dripping, flowing or cracking after 4 hours at 225°C (outer wall only), and low temperature flexibility verified with no cracking after 4 hours at -55°C (outer wall only). Self-extinguishing flammability rating meets UL 224 all-tubing flame test for jacket, ensuring fire safety in critical applications. Excellent electrical insulation properties with 700 V/mil dielectric strength and 10¹⁵ ohm-cm volume resistivity make J-321 ideal for high-voltage applications requiring environmental sealing. Exceptional chemical resistance includes non-corrosive performance, non-nutrient properties for fungus resistance, minimal water absorption of only 0.3%, and excellent fluid resistance for harsh chemical environments.
