Jaguar Industries' J-600 heat shrink tubing is a modified polychloroprene (NEOPRENE®) product engineered to meet demanding MIL-R-46846 Type 1 Class 1, MIL-I-23053/1 Class 1 and 2, and AMS-3623 specifications for military, aerospace, marine, and severe environment applications requiring exceptional flexibility at low temperatures and resistance to common fluids and solvents. Rated for continuous operation from -70°C to 121°C, this specialized elastomeric tubing provides one of the outstanding properties in the heat shrink industry: the ability to maintain flexibility at extremely low temperatures where other materials become brittle and fail. Not affected by common fluids and solvents, J-600 is ideal for use under severe environmental conditions including exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, and harsh weather. The minimum shrink temperature of 135°C provides controlled installation with excellent conformability to irregular shapes. With a 2:1 shrink ratio, this neoprene tubing ensures excellent coverage and secure fit over various component sizes and cable assemblies. Available in fifteen sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 4 inches, covering applications from small wire assemblies to large industrial cable protection requirements. Standard black color provides UV resistance and professional appearance for outdoor and exposed installations. Wall thickness ranges from .030 inches to .140 inches nominal recovered thickness, providing robust mechanical protection and environmental sealing. Packaged on convenient reels for production efficiency, with custom cut pieces available for specific applications requiring precise lengths. Outstanding physical properties include 2100 PSI tensile strength, exceptional 500% ultimate elongation (highest among polyolefin-based products) providing superior flexibility and conformability especially at low temperatures, +1,-10% longitudinal change for dimensional stability, and specific gravity of 1.3. Superior thermal performance demonstrated through heat aging showing remarkable 225% elongation retention after 168 hours at 121°C, heat shock resistance with no dripping and no cracking or dripping after 4 hours at 200°C, and outstanding low temperature flexibility verified with no cracking after 4 hours at -70°C (lowest temperature rating in the product line). Self-extinguishing flammability rating ensures fire safety in critical applications. Good electrical insulation properties with 800 V/mil dielectric strength and 10¹⁵ ohm-cm volume resistivity make J-600 suitable for electrical applications in harsh environments. Exceptional chemical resistance is the key differentiator with non-corrosive performance and excellent fuel and oil resistance demonstrated by JP4 testing (24 hours at 25°C) showing excellent rating with tensile strength retention of 1200 PSI and dielectric strength of 250 V/mil after exposure. Water absorption of only 0.7% and non-nutrient properties for fungus resistance ensure long-term reliability in humid and wet environments. Perfect for low-temperature applications requiring flexibility, arctic and cold climate installations, marine and offshore applications exposed to seawater and fuels, aircraft and aerospace fuel system protection, automotive fuel line and under-hood applications, military electronics in extreme cold environments, industrial equipment exposed to oils and solvents, hydraulic system protection, petroleum industry cable installations, outdoor telecommunications in harsh climates, cold storage facility wiring, refrigeration system components, subsea cable protection, naval vessel wiring systems, and any application requiring elastomeric heat shrink tubing with exceptional low-temperature flexibility, fuel and oil resistance, and MIL-SPEC reliability in severe environmental conditions. The combination of neoprene elastomer material, outstanding low-temperature flexibility down to -70°C, resistance to common fluids and solvents, exceptional elongation properties, comprehensive chemical resistance, and multiple MIL-SPEC and AMS certifications makes J-600 the ideal choice for the most demanding low-temperature and fuel-resistant applications where polyolefin or fluoropolymer materials would become brittle, crack, or fail, and where long-term reliability in harsh environmental conditions is absolutely critical.
